Why the number on your steps is higher.
Those totals count large, medium, pie, and specialty pumpkins. White ghost pumpkins, minis, and gourds come with every display and sit outside the total, and hay bales are counted on their own. What lands on your steps is always more than the number here.
The sizes matter as much as the count.
A display with the right number of pumpkins still looks flat if every piece is the same size. All four of ours use four grades together, and the grades give a step run its height.
