How long a display lasts comes down to three things.
Whether it is carved. A whole pumpkin is sealed fruit, and it holds up outdoors for weeks. A carved one has a far shorter life outdoors. Our porch pumpkins go out whole for that reason.
Where it sits. Direct afternoon sun works against a display, and so does standing water. A pumpkin sitting in a puddle on a flat step goes first, so pick the spot before you start arranging.
The weather. Cooler weather helps, so the back half of the season is easier on a display than the first weeks. More on first frost and fall displays.
Two things come with a display from us.
Both cover the pumpkins we supply.
Pumpkin freshener spray. Our own, included with every porch booking. It helps keep the pumpkins fresh and keeps pests away. Give the display a light spray once a week, or after a good rain.
Replacement until Thanksgiving. If a pumpkin we supplied spoils or rots before Thanksgiving, we replace it.

And at the end of it.
The pumpkins still have to go somewhere. Where removal is added to a booking we collect the display around Thanksgiving, and the pumpkins are donated to a local animal farm.
Removal is priced by package. If you are clearing it yourself, try a local farm before the curb.
